ST. PETERSBURG Police are
looking for a man they say
appeared to contemplate rob
bing one bank today, then
decided against it before going
to a second bank and robbing
it.
The suspect first went to the
SunTrust bank at 6300 Central
Ave. at 9:34 a.m., St. Petersburg
police said. Then he went to
the Bank of St. Petersburg at
3065 34th St. N. at 10:31 a.m.,
police said.
The suspect is described as
white, about 40, with a slender
build. He is 5 feet 10 inches to 6
feet tall, 150 to 180 pounds,
with straight brown collar-
length hair.
At the time of the robberies,
he was wearing a black base
ball cap, a tan or beige wind
breaker jacket, bluejeans and
white sneakers. He may also
be wearing eyeglasses or sun
glasses, and he was coughing a
lot.
At 9:34 a.m., the suspect
walked into the SunTrust bank
branch and approached the
teller. He had his hand in his
pants pocket and appeared to
be very nervous as he covered
his face. He said he had
forgotten his ID and left the
bank.
At 10:31 a.m., the suspect
entered the Bank of St.
Petersburg and walked up to a
teller. This time, he said he
was armed and demanded all
of the money. The teller com
plied and the suspect ran away
with an undisclosed amount of
money, possibly to a white
sports utility vehicle.
