TAMPA - Bucs receiver Joey Galloway has spent more years engaging in systematic activities than making radical statements.
Galloway spent months with his business partner creating original smoothies before opening Clearwater's Smoothie Junction Nutrition Outlet in September. He worked several months to build an elaborate koi pond in his back yard. Galloway is equally meticulous when it comes to making personnel decisions as part-owner of the Columbus Destroyers Arena Football League team.
However, when it came to predicting who would win tonight's BCS Championship Game between Ohio State, his alma mater, and LSU, teammate Michael Clayton's former squad, he had no problem predicting a winner.
"We'll win. I'll go with 32-20," Galloway said.
Galloway does not speak with the superiority of Clayton, but shares his teammate's confidence.
"He's always a little quiet," Clayton said.
The reason Galloway is being cautious this season is because Ohio State was expected to beat Florida in last year's BCS Championship Game, but his team was defeated 41-14.
As a result, Galloway has spent just as much time analyzing Ohio State as he did figuring out what to include in his Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup smoothie, which is why he can predict tonight's outcome with confidence.
"It should be a very interesting game. I think Ohio State will win. I think we're the better team," Galloway said. "I think after last year's experience of being in the championship game and the way it played out, I think we will be much more prepared this year and definitely go away with a victory."
