Police have arrested a teen in connection with the death of a 16-year-old boy in December and are searching for two others involved, the Bartow Police Department said.

Jonathan Homesley, 17, of 4943 E. Hillsborough Ave., was arrested Friday and faces charges of first-degree murder in the homicide of 16-year-old Armando Cortez, said Sgt. David Wyant in a news release.
Cortez was shot at the Carver Recreation Center at 520 S. Idlewood Ave., Bartow, on Dec. 23 as he was preparing to go to a 15th birthday party at the center.
Homesley also is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He is being held at Orient Road Jail without bail.
Bartow police have issued warrants for the arrest of Joseph Rondon, 19, and Juan Gutierrez, 21, on charges of aggravated battery in connection with Cortez's death, police said.
