TAMPA - The former second-in-command of the Tampa office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement plans to retire in March.
Moses Jordan was placed on administrative leave with pay in October amid an investigation into whether he violated department policy, according to FDLE spokeswoman Kristen Perezluha, who would not release further details on the investigation. Perezluha said the investigation does not involve allegations of any crime.
The department approved Jordan's retirement application on Jan. 3, Perezluha said.
Jordan had been assistant special agent in charge of the FDLE Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center since February 1998. Before that, he was chief of the Florida Crime Information Center, the agency responsible for storing criminal history, Perezluha said.
The former special agent in charge of the Tampa office, Lance Newman, resigned in October.
Pensacola former Special Agent in Charge Jim Madden has been appointed to take Newman's place.
