DADE CITY - Saturday is the deadline to enter the Little Miss Kumquat Festival Pageant for the $50 fee.
Contestants who enter after that, including at the door, will pay $25 more.
The Jan. 19 pageant is set for 1 p.m. at Pasco Middle School. Girls ages 1 through 17 will compete in five age groups to reign at the Dade City Kumquat Festival on Jan. 26.
The age divisions and titles are:
•1 through 3, Miss Kumquat Bud
•4 through 6, Miss Kumquat Bloom
•7 through 9, Miss Kumquat Blossom
•10 through 12, Miss Kumquat Maiden
•13 through 17, Miss Kumquat Princess
Prospective Buds and Blooms must wear short pageant or party dresses. Girls ages 7 through 17 must wear long gowns.
The contestants also will be judged in casual wear and onstage speeches.

The nonprofit organization Starrz of Tomorrow also is sponsoring the competition that will follow Little Miss Kumquat Festival.
The pageant will crown Miss Kumquat Festival, for ages 17 through 24, and Miss Outstanding Teen Kumquat Festival, for ages 13 through 17.
The entry deadline already has passed.
Winners there will advance to the Miss Florida Pageant and Miss Outstanding Florida Teen Pageant, as well as reign over the Kumquat Festival.
