NORTH MANATEE - NORTH MANATEE - A dispute about a vehicle parked in a spot reserved for the handicapped at the Sunshine Skyway fishing pier landed two men in jail on battery charges.
Manatee County sheriff's deputies said the 69-year-old victim, a man who had been fishing, was grabbed and dragged along the pier about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Kyong M. Chong, 47, of Odessa, and Paul J. Lee, 57, of South Pasdena, Fla., were arrested on charges of battery on a person older than 65.
Chong and Lee said they were trying to "escort" the fisherman to Lee's car to show him a handicapped placard, according to sheriff's reports. Lee declined comment Wednesday. Chong could not be reached.
