Published: January 9, 2008

A decade after singling out the Spice Girls as fashion atrocities, Mr. Blackwell put just one of them at the top of his 48th annual worst-dressed list.

Saying it's all in fun to encourage fashion consciousness, Blackwell heaped venom on Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, his No. 1 choice on the list, which was released Tuesday.

"Forget the fashion spice; wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty Posh can really wreck-em," he said.

The top 10 roll-call of fashion dishonors also includes at No. 2: Amy Winehouse, "Exploding beehives above, tacky polka-dots below, she's part '50s carhop horror"; No. 3: Mary-Kate Olsen, "She resembles a tattered toothpick - trapped in a hurricane"; No. 4: Fergie, "Yes, when it comes to couture chaos, guess it's all in a name!"

His top 10 also includes Kelly Clarkson, Eva Green, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan and Alison Arngrim.

Mr. Blackwell also released a Fabulous Fashion Independents list that includes Reese Witherspoon, Jemima Khan, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes, Kate Middleton, Katherine Heigl and Cate Blanchett.

Penn Tops in Directors Guild's Book

Sean Penn earned a nomination Tuesday as best filmmaker from the Directors Guild of America for his tragic road tale "Into the Wild," along with Joel and Ethan Coen for their bloody crime saga "No Country for Old Men."

Also nominated: Paul Thomas Anderson for his historical epic "There Will Be Blood," starring Daniel Day-Lewis as a baron of California's oil boom in the early 20th century; Tony Gilroy for his legal drama "Michael Clayton," featuring George Clooney as a conscience-torn attorney in a corporate lawsuit; and Julian Schnabel for his real-life memoir "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."

It's True: Kidman, Urban To Become Parents

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are expecting their first child together.

The news was announced Monday by Kidman's publicist, Catherine Olim. It was also posted on Urban's Web site.

Kidman and Urban are in Sydney, Australia, where the 40-year-old actress has been working on Baz Luhrmann's epic romance, "Australia."

Kidman has withdrawn from the post-World War II drama "The Reader" because of her pregnancy.

Found On Sunset Boulevard: Spears' Disabled Car

Britney Spears' car was impounded after police found it abandoned on the street.

Los Angeles police said Spears was driving Monday night when she had a flat tire on Sunset Boulevard sometime before 8 p.m.

"She left it unattended and it was blocking traffic, so it was towed," Officer Karen Smith, a police spokeswoman, said of Spears' car Tuesday.

Police said it was unlikely the 26-year-old pop star will be ticketed because the car was disabled when it was left in the street.
