Motorcyclist Hits Truck, Dies

CLEARWATER - A 29-year-old motorcyclist riding without his headlight on was killed Wednesday night when he smashed into a pickup exiting a driveway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist has been identified as L.G. Kwiatkowski of 1881 N. Hercules Ave., Clearwater.

Kwiatkowski was riding a 2007 Yamaha R1-1000 at high speed on Hercules Avenue when the sport motorcycle collided with a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup exiting a driveway just north of Sherwood Street, the highway patrol said.

Kwiatkowski was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:40 p.m. wreck.

The driver of the pickup – identified as Keith Woodring, 39, of 1955 Clarendon Road, Clearwater – had minor injuries, authorities said.

No charges were filed.
