Published: January 10, 2008

TRINITY - Planning commissioners on Wednesday approved liquor licenses for five sites in the up-and-coming Trinity Town Center, now under construction at Trinity Boulevard and Little Road.

The licenses, which must win final approval from county commissioners, will allow onsite sales of alcoholic drinks at Pacific Palate, Gaetano's Italian Restaurant, Mariposa Mexican Grill and two other restaurants that haven't been named.

The permits are the latest step in the growth of Trinity Town Center, which the developers have promised will feature a mix of shops, restaurants and offices within easy reach of some of the wealthiest enclaves in Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Developer ICC Financial of Palm Harbor began construction of Trinity Town Center in August. The 200,000-square-foot plaza, expected to open this year, will boast Pasco County's first parking garage.

Trinity Town Center is one of four "lifestyle center" developments being built in Pasco. The other three are in Wesley Chapel. All feature an open-air design with playgrounds, fountains and other public amenities.

The town center's tenant list includes regionally known restaurants that will open their first or second locations in Trinity. That list includes Mariposa, which operates at Van Dyke Road and North Dale Mabry Highway in Lutz.
