The exact cause of death couldn't be determined, but there was no sign of "surgical or anesthetic misadventure" in the death of Donda West, Kanye West's mother, a coroner's report said Thursday.
West, 58, died Nov. 10 at a Los Angeles area hospital, a day after she had breast reduction, a tummy tuck and liposuction.
The report noted that coronary artery disease, the liposuction and mammoplasty, and multiple postoperative factors could have played roles, but it said the exact contribution of each factor couldn't be determined. The investigation found "therapeutic levels of medication" but no unusually high levels.
"The final matter of death could not be determined," the coroner's office said in a statement.
Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office said the family was notified of the findings earlier Thursday. "They were appreciative of our efforts," he said.
Asked if West would still be alive if she hadn't undergone the surgery, Winter said: "She could, possibly. But she could have also died because of pre-existing cardiac issues."
Gandolfini Is Engaged
Here's one thing that happened to Tony Soprano after the screen went black.
James Gandolfini, who played the mob boss in the hit HBO series "The Sopranos," is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, a statement on his behalf said.
The actor is said to have popped the question to former model Deborah Lin on vacation in the Bahamas.
"Reps for James Gandolfini are happy to announce that he and his girlfriend Deborah Lin recently got engaged during the holidays," the issued statement says.
Rodriguez Released Early From Jail
Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez has found her way out of jail.
Rodriguez was released from a Los Angeles County women's jail in Lynwood, Calif., on Wednesday after serving 18 days of a 180-day sentence for violating probation in a drunken driving case, authorities said.
She was released early under a program that deals with jail crowding by allowing nonviolent female inmates to serve as little as 10 percent of their sentence.
The same thing happened two years ago when Rodriguez served just one day of a 60-day jail sentence for probation violation.
Hospital Lacks Candor, Quaid Says
Dennis Quaid and his wife denounced Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles over a "lack of candor" about medical errors they think caused their newborn twins to receive overdoses of a blood thinner.
The couple said they were particularly upset to learn from a state investigation that their babies were given dosages of heparin that were 2,000 times stronger than what was prescribed.
The report's findings, released Wednesday by the California Department of Public Health, conflict with the hospital's initial report that the children each received one vial containing 10,000 units per milliliter of heparin instead of the common dosage of 10 units per milliliter. The report found that the children actually received two of the vials.
"We find it outrageous and totally unacceptable that we are learning for the first time ... exactly what transpired," the actor and his wife, Kimberly, said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.
