Detectives hope offering a reward will help them catch a thief -- or thieves.
A thief or group of thieves robbed 10 homes and tried to rob two more in the Country Chase subdivision of northwest Hillsborough County from Dec. 14 through 18, sheriff's detectives said.
Two of the homes are in the 12000 block of Rustic View Court and were hit Dec. 14; five are in the 8500-8600 blocks of Tidal Bay Lane, hit Dec. 17; and five are in the 12000 block of Stone Crossing Circle, hit Dec. 18.
Each time, the burglars entered through unlocked sliding glass doors, a Crime Stoppers news release states.
The burglaries occurred at night while the residents were home, but there were no confrontations, detectives said.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 or www.crimestopperstb.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
