An escaped prisoner attacked a Lecanto homeowner with a hammer this morning, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

James Coursey
The homeowner discovered escaped prisoner James Coursey in his shed at 9:42 a.m. in the Leisure Acres area.
Coursey, 49, attacked the person with a hammer, causing cuts, a sheriff's office release says. Coursey kept the hammer and ran south.
Coursey, is 6-foot-2 with light brown curly hair and blue eyes. He weighs about 200 pounds and is wearing blue pants and a light shirt.
Deputies are using an aviation unit, canines and ground units to track Coursey.
Coursey escaped from the Citrus County Detention Facility about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
He had been charged with burglary and grand theft.
