Gov. Charlie Crist wants you to vote yes this month for a constitutional amendment to cut property taxes. So do Realtors and businesses bankrolling a "Yes on One" campaign to persuade you.
What's not to like in a tax cut?
Whether the amendment is good for Florida's economy depends on whom you ask. Whether it will benefit you personally depends on your property tax situation.
In the end, voters will have to weigh the value of the tax savings they would receive if Amendment One passes against their need for local services that property taxes pay for.
