More Than 100 Charges Add Up To $1.3 Million In Bail

TAMPA - A Tampa man had bail set at more than $1.3 million after being arrested Monday afternoon.

The Crips gang member has 185 charges against him, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Hillsborough County deputies arrested Hector Josue Vazquez Padilla, 19, on drug and gun charges.

Deputies arrived at about 8:40 p.m. at 17820 Jamestown Way, Apartment D, where they thought Vazquez Padilla was operating a marijuana manufacturing operation out of a closet, a criminal arrest affidavit states. Marijuana was located in a 4-by-2-foot red box.

The marijuana was separated for sale and delivery, according to the affidavit. There also were several marijuana cigarettes in an ashtray in his room.

Nineteen firearms and 156 rounds of ammunition were found in the home, the affidavit states. A shotgun's barrel had been shortened.

Vazquez Padilla was charged with 19 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, 156 counts of being a felon in possession of ammunition, six counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and one count each of manufacturing marijuana, possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana, possessing marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and possessing a short-barrel shotgun, according to the affidavit.

The type of guns and exact amount of marijuana recovered were not immediately available, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. A full report on the arrest had not been completed Tuesday.

Zuania Yari Vazquez Padilla, 20, also was arrested Monday. The nature of their relationship wasn't available, but she shared the room with him.

She was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana and possessing marijuana with intent to sell or deliver. She also was charged with violating probation.

She remained in Orient Road Jail today. She is being held without bail because of a probation violation charge, according to the sheriff's office.

A sheriff's office news release says the two live at the Jamestown Way apartment. The affidavit lists their temporary address on Jamestown Way but says their permanent address is 6005 W. Paris St.
