TAMPA - Three of four suspects have been jailed in connection with a robbery at the Courtney Campbell Parkway, according to arrest reports.
Mercedes Pastuizaca, 18, Santy Collazo, 20, and Stephen M. Grimsley, 20, all of Tampa, remain in Orient Road Jail with no bail set. A fourth suspect, Carlos Lazaro Rodriguez, 23, remains at large, according to reports.
Police say the victims, both men, were lured to meet with Pastuizaca and Collazo at the causeway's bridge at 2 a.m. Dec. 31. They were talking to the women when Grimsley and Rodriguez approached, police said. One of the male suspects held a gun, and the other implied he had one.
They robbed the victims of wallets, jewelry, cell phones and watches. One victim pulled out a gun and fired two shots into the air as the suspects drove away in two vehicles, leaving behind a cell phone.
Pastuizaca was arrested at 8 p.m. Monday and told officers of the robbery plot, police said. Collazo was arrested shortly after at 11:45 p.m. Police said she tried to sell one of the victim's gold bracelets to Value Pawn on West Waters Avenue for $250.
Grimsley was arrested early today after he was identified using a photo lineup, police said.
