Sharks Senior Arrested On Weapons Charge

Riverview High senior boys basketball player Montrael Albury and two other Riverview students were arrested Tuesday at the school on a charge of possessing a weapon on school property, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department arrest report and spokesman J.D. Callaway. The report states Albury had in his possession a BB pistol. Albury, 19, of 1017 Axlewood Circle in Brandon, was released on a $2,000 bond.

One of the two other students, who are both minors, was charged with possession of a knife; the other was charged with possession of a toy gun.

Callaway said a school administrator noticed suspicious activity in a vehicle in the school's parking lot when school let out. The teacher then alerted a deputy on site. Callaway said Albury admitted that one of the BB pistols was his. The two minors were charged with misdemeanors.

Hillsborough County Public Schools spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said all three students received 10-day suspensions.
