Teen Facing Multiple Charges

ZEPHYRHILLS - A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged Wednesday with arson, grand theft and burglary, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

Nicholas S. Lucas, a runaway from Lakeland, was seen inside a burning Valleybrook Drive mobile home on Dec. 10, a sheriff's report said. Two witnesses told deputies that they saw Lucas running from the home, which sustained about $5,000 in damage.

Lucas also is accused of taking a yellow Labrador retriever puppy and a chocolate Labrador retriever puppy from a yard on Greenbrook Avenue, also in Zephyrhills, a sheriff's report said. When he was confronted by family members of the dogs' owner, Lucas dropped the pure-bred puppies and ran, the report said.
