It seems ironic that the political party that claimed to want every Florida vote to count in 2000 now thinks Florida voters no longer matter. In the hectic days following the 2000 election, Democrats were so desperate for votes in Florida they were arguing that under-votes ballots with no presidential candidate selected should be counted as a vote for Al Gore.
Now Florida Democrats, because of grandstanding between the state and national Democrat Party, will have no say in who represents their party in the general election.
Do not feel too left out, Florida Democrats. While our votes will not matter on Jan. 29, our money still spends like the rest of the country, and Democratic candidates have been careful not to mix business with campaigning during trips to Florida. These candidates are for "change," but they prefer the stuff that folds.
