Lennar seminars aim to ease home-buying process

Have you thought about buying a home but feel overwhelmed at the thought of putting in so much work? Lennar is promoting a campaign designed to educate prospective homeowners and take the mystery out of the home-buying process.

"We are holding seminars throughout the Tampa Bay area in partnership with H & R Block and Universal American Mortgage Co.," says Jassy Friddle, marketing manager for Lennar. "The seminars will show potential home buyers just how easy the process can be."

Also, if you buy a home with Lennar through Feb. 15, Lennar will double your tax refund up to $5,000 for use toward closing costs or to reduce the sales price of the home, Friddle says.

Don't know what your refund will be? Friddle says the representatives from H & R Block will be on hand at the seminars to give prospective buyers tips on maximizing their tax refunds. Participants also will receive a coupon for a discount should they decide to have H & R Block prepare their tax return.

Mortgage representatives from Universal American Mortgage also will be available at the seminars to discuss financing options and help participants pre-qualify for a loan, so they know how much home they can afford, Friddle adds.

The seminars are at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Isles in New Tampa and 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Oaks of Historic Seminole Heights in Tampa.

Lennar has been building homes since 1954. Friddle says it's Tampa's No. 1 home builder, according to Rose Residential Reports, which monitors the Bay area market.

"We are very excited that we can accumulate one of the largest tax [preparers] along with specialists in new home lending to help those who may be intimidated by the home-buying experience," says Mark Metheny, president of Lennar's Tampa North division.

"We are providing home buyers with an opportunity to learn how to take advantage of a buyer's market and how to make a strong investment for their future."

Friddle says today's buyer's market makes it a great time to buy and it's an opportunity to get a piece of the American dream.
