Polk County detectives are seeking information about an armed carjacking Sunday in Winter Haven.
A woman had stopped her white 2005 BMW sport utility vehicle to help a stray dog near Country Club Road and Summerfield subdivision about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Polk County deputies say.
She was approached by two unknown white men who forced her from her SUV and fled south on Country Club toward Dundee Road, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. One of the men had a silver handgun.
Deputies found the vehicle abandoned and partly submerged in Lake Smart in Winter Haven.
Anyone with information should call Detective Sam Bunch at (863) 534-6397 or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (1-800-226-8477).
