Hillsborough County deputies arrested a Dover couple on Monday after they were caught stealing railroad braces from tracks near Miller and Washington roads in Valrico, according to arrest reports.
Loretta Kay Williams, 44, and Michael Richard Bachman, 46, both of 4628 Turkey Creek Road, were charged with two felonies, interference with railroad equipment and grand theft. They posted $4,000 bail apiece today and were released, records show.
Deputies said someone saw Williams and Bachman take the braces and put them in the bed of an orange 1990 GMC pickup, then drive away. When deputies stopped the truck at Miller Road and State Road 60, they found 20 braces in the bed, they said.
Each brace is valued at $300, deputies said.
