LAKELAND — A 53-year-old homeless man was arrested Monday in connection with the theft of a Ronald McDonald charities donation box, Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
Theron Bryan was charged with grand theft and burglary after a 2:30 a.m. Jan. 8 breakin at the McDonald's at 4721 S. Florida Ave. Bryan told deputies he lives in the Combee Road area of Lakeland.
Deputies said Bryan removed the bottom half of the glass door and stole the box that contained $350 in loose change. The crime was captured on surveillance video.
On Jan. 16, Polk County Sheriff's Office and Lakeland police received an anonymous tip about Bryan, the suspect in another burglary.
Deputies arrested Bryan behind a market after receiving another anonymous call.
