NEW PORT RICHEY - A woman accused in nearly two dozen cases of identity theft and fraud, among other charges, is now suspected of similar crimes in Jackson County in the Panhandle.
Tonya Michelle Adams has been in and out of Land O' Lakes Jail since February, accused of auto theft, burglary and use of other people's identification. Last year, investigators seized about 100 pieces of stolen mail and checks, and notebooks containing names, Social Security and bank account numbers from Adams' car, records state.
At least 20 victims have been identified, court records state.
In July, a Pasco judge would not accept a plea agreement for Adams for anything less than 20 years in prison. While awaiting trail, she posted bail.
Early Tuesday, she was arrested in New Port Richey on a Jackson County warrant listing four counts of uttering a forged instrument.
It wasn't immediately clear Tuesday exactly what she was accused of doing.
The bail bond company that previously bailed her out has withdrawn its financial backing of her release.
Adams, 30, of 17091 Powerline Road, Dade City, is being held without bail at Land O' Lakes Jail.
