SAW IV

For truly naive fans of this iconic torture porn franchise (and horror movies in general), it may come as a shock to learn that the sadistic, sanctimonious Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) still has some nasty puzzles up his sleeve, in spite of kicking the bucket at the end of the last "Saw" movie — and being gruesomely autopsied at the beginning of this one.

R; 95 minutes

THE GAME PLAN

Although he may not be the first name that comes to mind upon hearing the words "Disney movie," The Rock is well within his comfort zone in this family-friendly comedy about a cartoonishly macho football star discovering that he has an 8-year-old daughter (Madison Pettis), who will of course provide her unsuspecting Pop with precocious dialogue, fish-out-of-water gags and, of course, a life-changing dose of sentimentality.

PG; 110 minutes

SYDNEY WHITE

Budding literary scholar Amanda Bynes, who dazzled the tween world with her "Twelfth Night" update "She's the Man," takes on "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," only this time the magic mirror is a MySpace page, the Apple is a computer, the dwarfs are dorks, and so on. It all boils down to a cheesier-than-usual campus comedy more in keeping with the tradition of disposable teenybopper B-movies than the Brothers Grimm.

PG-13; 90 minutes

THE HUNTING PARTY

Richard Gere is a washed-up journalist still lurking in the Balkans several years after the war, where he persuades his ex-cameraman, Terence Howard, and newbie reporter Jesse Eisenberg to help him track down a notorious war criminal still hiding in the mountains — and of course claim the ensuing reward. Things go awry from there in bleakly ironic fashion in this dark comedy from writer-director Richard Shepard ("The Matador").

RADIOHEAD: THE DVD BOX UNAUTHORIZED

As retail experiences go, this one is not quite as off-the-grid as the pay-what-you-want offering of their latest album. But hardcore fans who don't already own both of the previously released documentaries included here — "Homework," charting the band's history, and "OK Computer: Classic Album Under Review," a look at their best-known record — probably won't mind putting a little cash back into the system.

THE JEFF CORWIN EXPERIENCE: SEASON 1

If all of the slightly unbalanced dudes with their own nature-'n'-exotic-creatures themed TV shows teamed up to form a pack of some sort, Jeff Corwin would be the Jerry Lewis — a goofy, goggle-eyed, exaggerated guide to far-off places and dangerous beasties. Fans of his popular Animal Planet series obviously consider this a good thing; personally I'd take an Austin Stevens DVD any day.
