TAMPA - Sheree Ellis, the sister-in-law of University of South Florida linebacker Ben Moffitt, received a letter of reprimand from Wildwood Elementary principal Dana Williams after she told The Tampa Tribune she wrote papers for Moffitt, Sumter County superintendent Richard Shirley said.

Ellis, a Wildwood Elementary teacher, also told the Tribune she filled out paperwork indicating Moffitt had visited her classroom as required for his Intro to Education and Field Experience class, although he never actually attended.

"You're talking about someone that is a relatively young teacher and got caught up in the moment and didn't use the best judgment," Shirley said.

Moffitt's wife, Shauna Moffitt, was docked 10 hours of pay by the Sumter County Property Appraiser's Office for the time she said she spent doing her husband's schoolwork while at work, said a Sumter County spokeswoman.

Moffitt, who has an annual salary of $34,918, will be docked $167.20 divided between two paychecks, the spokeswoman said.

Moffitt told the Tribune she wrote nearly every paper for her husband during his five years at USF and e-mailed the Tribune six assignments she said she did while at work.

Ben Moffitt, who is at the Senior Bowl this week, and his attorney will not address his wife's allegations that she did his schoolwork.
