TAMPA - You might want to bundle up early for the Gasparilla events Saturday, but overall the forecast calls for a good day to watch a parade.
There's no mention of rain, though it's unlikely a bit of precipitation would drown out a bunch of pirates. It is expected to be partly cloudy throughout the day.
There could be a chill, depending on when you intend to show up, especially if you are a pre-dawn arrival. It also could be a bit more chilly near the water.
Here's a breakdown of the National Weather Service forecast for Saturday, though keep in mind it can change.
•5 a.m., high 40s with a wind chill of mid-40s
•7 a.m., high 40s with wind chill in high 40s
•10 a.m., start of the Gasparilla Invasion Brunch, high 50s, light wind
•11:30 a.m., invasion starts, low to mid-60s
•2 p.m. parade starts, high 60s to low 70s, with almost no wind
•5:30 p.m. parade ends, low to mid-60s, light wind
If you're staying around for the evening events:
•7 p.m., low 60s to high 50s, light wind
•9 p.m., high 50s, light wind
