AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Richard Hamilton scored 32 points and Rasheed Wallace had 13 of his 15 in the first quarter, helping the Detroit Pistons build a big lead that allowed them to coast in a 101-93 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
The Central Division-leading Pistons were dominant in the first half, setting up their second straight win after dropping a season-high three in a row - including a loss at Orlando - and six of nine games.
Dwight Howard had 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Hedo Turkoglu scored 23 for the Southeast Division-leading Magic, who had won three straight.
SUNS 110, CAVALIERS 108: Shawn Marion dropped in a baseline floater with 1.1 seconds left for his only field goal as Phoenix burned with a season-high 17 3-pointers.
Marion was 0-for-3 from the floor before he took a pass in the corner, dribbled past a defender, and as LeBron James came toward him, arched in his shot on the run to put the Suns ahead.
CELTICS 87, TIMBERWOLVES 86: Kendrick Perkins scored on a putback with 16.6 seconds left, and Kevin Garnett poked the ball away from Sebastian Telfair as time expired to give Boston the win.
In the first matchup between Garnett and the handful of ex-Celtics traded to Minnesota for him, Boston struggled to put away the team with the worst record in the NBA.
MAVERICKS 112, LAKERS 105: Josh Howard had 26 points and played tough defense on Kobe Bryant during a game-changing third quarter, and Dallas held off a furious finish by Bryant for a victory.
Bryant scored 14 of the Lakers' final 16 points, including the last 10. He had 16 points in the quarter and 40 in the game. He also was 17-of-21 from the foul line, approaching career highs in both categories.
WIZARDS 104, GRIZZLIES 93: Antawn Jamison had 24 points and 12 rebounds as Washington rebounded from its worst defeat in more than six years.
Washington lost to Cleveland 121-85 on Wednesday, and they quickly erased memories of that debacle by holding Memphis to nine points in the first quarter.
KNICKS 89, 76ERS 81: Zach Randolph had 16 points and 15 rebounds to help New York beat Philadelphia.
Jamal Crawford had 18 points and reserve David Lee finished with 14 for the Knicks.
HORNETS 111, CLIPPERS 92: Peja Stojakovic hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 points as New Orleans won its seventh straight game.
Stojakovic hit five of his 3-pointers during a four-minute span in the third quarter.
BOBCATS 90, BULLS 77: Emeka Okafor scored 21 points and had 16 rebounds and Gerald Wallace added 21 points to help Charlotte beat injury-depleted Chicago. The Bobcats used a 15-4 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away.
RAPTORS 106, BUCKS 75: Chris Bosh scored 32 points and Carlos Delfino added 18 as Toronto used a decisive third-quarter run to win.
