LAKELAND - A Florida Southern College student found dead in his apartment Saturday night apparently died from a lacerated spleen.
Michael Szwed, 22, was found by friends, unresponsive, in his apartment, according to Lakeland Police.
Szwed had been at the college campus participating in a planned recreational event when, about 11 a.m., he said he didn't feel well. Friends took him to his apartment at 410 E. Belmar Ave., police said.
When his friends returned about 10 p.m., Szwed was unresponsive.
An autopsy performed Sunday determined Szwed had suffered a lacerated spleen. Toxicology results are pending.
Police have not determined how Szwed suffered the injury, but foul play is not suspected.
