As a first-time presidential voter, I am extremely concerned that not one of the candidates is talking about a major issue that will affect my generation - Social Security.
The baby boomers will be a big problem when they begin to collect. The problem is that the number of baby boomers' babies, who pay the money to provide the Social Security benefit, is very small in relation to the number of baby boomers who will be collecting it. In the not-too-distant future, it will be even smaller. Any time the government gives a benefit to one group, it does so at the expense of another.
I work full time supporting my college studies and I've gotten beyond the shock of seeing how much of my paycheck is left after the government's share. I'm really concerned how much of my paycheck will support retired people as they play golf or vacation.
