Five people were injured in a drive-by shooting this morning in Bradenton, Manatee County deputies say.
The five people were standing by a vehicle at 2808 6th Street E. about 12:17 a.m. when a dark Chevrolet Blazer drove by, a sheriff's office release says. Someone from the Blazer fired four to six
shots at the group.
Oviel Medians, 22, was shot in the neck. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where was listed in stable condition Sunday.
The other four people, who suffered minor injuries, are: Ernesto Ramirez, 12; Francisco Martinez, 16; Roberto Ramirez, 16; and Emanuel Navarro, 19.
"According to the victims, they did not see the shooter and can not identify anyone in the vehicle involved in the shooting," the release states.
A Blazer found in a ditch in Ellenton was identified as the vehicle involved in the shooting, according to the release. Detectives interviewing that vehicle's driver and passenger, but they denied involvement in the shooting.
An investigation is ongoing.
