NEW PORT RICHEY - The death of a man found in a burned pickup this month in this rural west Pasco community is being investigated as a homicide, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said today.
Jesse Lohr, 30, whose last known address was 739 Suncoast Blvd., Spring Hill, was discovered near Lake Drive and Coronado Way on Jan. 18 by a pair of hikers. His body was badly burned and detectives weren't immediately able to determine his identity, sheriff's office spokesman Doug Tobin said.
Tobin said today that forensic evidence indicates the death was a homicide.
"We're still trying to figure out the events that led to this man's death," he said.
No additional information about the investigation was made available.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office tip line, 1-800-706-2488.
