Published: January 28, 2008

TAMPA - Only three of the 10 recruits the University of South Florida hosted this weekend weren't already committed to USF.

The three non-USF commits visiting were: Miami Northwestern WR Tommy Streeter, Miami Carroll CB George Baker and Hialeah DT Corey Liuget. None committed to USF during their visits.

One of the nation's top wide outs, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound Streeter remains uncommitted and also has visited Boston College, Oregon and South Carolina. The hometown Miami Hurricanes also remain a possibility.

Baker, who previously committed to Auburn, also has visited UCF and Rutgers. Liuget, an early commitment to Illinois, has visited Florida State, LSU and Miami. He's rated among the nation's top 10 defensive tackles.

Among those visiting this weekend who had already committed to USF included Wharton TE Andreas Shields, Tarpon Springs DE Donnel Engram, Lake Wales K Maikon Bonani, Lake Mary LB Mike Lanaris, Ocala Vanguard TE Jeff Hawkins and Coral Springs Charter QB Evan Landi.

The Bulls are not expected to host any recruits next weekend, the last weekend, before the Feb. 6 National Signing Day.

ODDS AND ENDS: Of USF's early commitments, only Miami Northwestern LB Quavon Taylor is rated among the Orlando Sentinel's Top 100 state recruits. Taylor is ranked No. 78. ... Tallahassee Lincoln QB B.J. Daniels, who is a top priority of the Bulls and visited USF last weekend, is now reportedly being sought after by Michigan and new coach Rich Rodriguez. He also received previous offers from Alabama, Memphis, Middle Tennessee and Troy. Several other schools have offered Daniels as an athlete, but he wants to play QB in college. Daniels isn't expected to announce a decision until National Signing Day. ... Entering this weekend, USF's recruiting class ranked No. 51 nationally by Scout.com and fifth in the Big East. The rest of Scout.com's Big East national rankings: Pittsburgh (19), Rutgers (43), Syracuse (44), Cincinnati (46), West Virginia (56), Louisville (62) and UConn (65).
