APOLLO BEACH - A man died after a woman accidentally hit him with her Cadillac, dragged him underneath it and crashed the vehicle into a tree and condo, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Vida Morgan said.
The crash happened at 809 Golf and Sea Blvd., near the Apollo Beach Golf Club, about 11:30 a.m. today, Morgan said.
Valerie Green, 82, of 6431 Lake Sunrise Drive, Apollo Beach, was lost and pulled into a parking lot next to the golf course to ask for directions, Morgan said.
Earl Hamm, 80, of 711 McAlister Ave., of Sun City Center, and another man were guiding Green out of the parking lot when she accidentally hit the accelerator as she was in reverse, Morgan said.
The 1990 Cadillac knocked Hamm to the ground and dragged him underneath as it hit a curb, went over a median, crashed into a tree and then hit a condominium.
Hamm was taken to South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, where he was pronounced dead.
