TAMPA - Law enforcement officers seized 240 grams of cocaine and 93 grams of heroin at a Tampa home Tuesday after a two-week investigation, Hillsborough County deputies say.
They also seized a .40-caliber Taurus handgun that had been reported stolen in 2007.
Four roommates were arrested at 6202 Sheldon Road, Apt. 604: Rafael J. Alfaro, 27; Jorge L. Torres, 31; Melissa N. Metz, 21; and Jose Andujar Valentin, 31.
Each was charged with armed trafficking in heroin, armed trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffic in heroin and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, their criminal arrest affidavits state.
The seized drugs have a street value of about $15,000, a sheriff's office news release states.
A search warrant was executed Tuesday at the Sheldon Road address by Hillsborough County deputies and Tampa police, according to the release.
Valentin goes by several names, including Jose Eddie Andujar, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Web site and Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show.
Under the name Andujar, he was sentenced in October 1996 to nearly 15 years in prison in the shooting death of a 16-year-old Plant High student, according to Tampa police. He was released from custody in November 2005.
Alfaro, Torres, Metz and Valentin remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
