HUDSON - Pasco County vice-narcotics deputies arrested a man after dismantling a large marijuana grow house, according to sheriff's office spokesman Doug Tobin.
Deputies arrested Yosniel Paz, a Cuban national with a Miami address. They described him as the caretaker of the house and are still looking for the owner.
A tip led deputies to a home at 12509 Canton Drive where they found 182 marijuana plants in a garage and pantry, Tobin said. About 50 of the plants are described as 5 to 6 feet tall. Investigators think the plants were grown hydroponically, using stolen electrical power.
Detectives estimate the street value of the plants at $200,000, Tobin said. They also are looking for connections between the Canton Drive house and other grow houses in Pasco County and Miami.
