Hundreds Of Portable Toilets Burned In Tarpon Springs

Arson investigators are looking into a fire that burned more than 300 portable toilets today in Tarpon Springs.

The portables were set ablaze in a fenced in lot at Comfort Zone Portables, 822 Anclote Boulevard, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

The fire occurred at 3:45 p.m. Several fire departments responded.

No one was injured.

Why? I would hope the arsonist could be charged with over 300 felonies instead of just one. The next time it could be somebody's house. Arsonists usually keep setting fires until they are caught.

what a buisness... portable toilets... probably second only to bob's barricades (that bobby-barricade-guy has *got* to be a genius)

I wouldn't jump to conclusions because there's always the possibility that something sparked the highly volatile methane gas, a by-product of human waste.

I can see the caretaker for the fenced in lot in my mind, running and screaming at the top of his lungs, covered in fecal matter looking like a creature from the Black Lagoon..."It's alive...!!!"

Portables are vented so that methane doesn't build up...tested on Mythbusters! Had to be arson, and you can bet there will be a sh*tstorm over it...
