Regarding " 'Hyde Park Rapist' Released" (Metro, Jan. 18):
I find this quite disturbing. The two psychiatrists and the parole board involved in his release should be ashamed of themselves. A person like this who has committed so many vicious rapes and attempted rapes will never be rehabilitated. There is something in his mind that will never change. He may move to another community, but that community is going to be at major risk.
Trusting him to state that he would never commit another crime again is bizarre. This is not a one-time event and I certainly doubt that the psychiatrists involved or the parole board members involved would want him in their community. Should he commit further crimes, the psychiatrists and parole board members should be prosecuted for incompetence and causing a danger to the general public.
I know we in the United States pride ourselves in such a wonderful judicial system, but in this case it has gone haywire and it is truly a farce. This gentleman should never walk the streets again.
