TAMPA - The DiLucia family of Town 'N Country claimed a Lotto prize yesterday, opting for the one-time, lump-sum payment of more than $10 million of the $18 million jackpot drawn on Jan. 23.
"Well," said John DiLucia this morning, "it's between me and my wife and two daughters. We are going to take care of our families. That's all I can tell you."
The Florida Lottery said the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Albertsons grocery store at 8701 W. Hillsborough Ave. and that the DiLucias held the only ticket that matched all six numbers.
Albertsons also was a winner, getting a check for $30,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials said that more than 98,000 other Lotto players won cash prizes on that drawing, including 72 ticket buyers who matched five of the six numbers, each taking home $6,523.
The DiLucia family established the DiLucia Family Partnership before accepting the winnings. Lottery officials said the family took the one-time, lump-sum payout of $10,570,680 rather than the 20-year payment option.
The winning numbers were: 4-25-33-40-41- 45.
The DiLucias bought the 64th winning Lotto ticket in Hillsborough County and the 927th statewide since 1988.
