BRADENTON — A Bradenton man followed two 7-Eleven customers to their car and asked for spare change around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
When they said they had none, he flashed his gun and asked again.
As a result, he took $7 to $8 off the victims and was slapped with an armed robbery charge only minutes later.
Deputies reported that David Soper, 21, also aimed his gun at the driver, an 18-year-old man, and pulled the trigger twice, but it did not fire either time.
The driver and passenger, a 17-year-old girl, sped off in the vehicle from the convenience store located at 4208 59th St. W.
Soper was also charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. The gun was found and matched to a May report of a stolen firearm.
