The man killed in Sunday's Interstate 75 crash was identified Monday as Arthur Gilbert, 73, of St. Petersburg.
The crash, which happened about 3 p.m. near the Pasco-Hernando County line, shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 for several hours.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Arnold L. Parker, 65, of Belleview, was entering southbound I-75 at mile marker 293 in his Chevrolet pickup and hit the right side of Gilbert's Chevrolet Camaro. Gilbert lost control of the car, which hit a guardrail, spun clockwise and hit the pickup before stopping in the grassy median.
Gilbert was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor, troopers said.
