TAMPA - Abdul Rahman Al Hamdan was found beaten and strangled in his Temple Terrace apartment on July 15, 2002.
Nearly six years later, Temple Terrace police are seeking the public's help in the unsolved slaying.
Al Hamdan's car was found abandoned in the 4900 block of Nassau Street on July 11, 2002. It had fresh fire damage and old front-end body damage.
His body was found four days later inside the Colonial Grand apartment complex on Temple Terrace Highway. Al Hamdan, a Saudi Arabia native, was 53.
"Police investigators are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen or associated with the victim or his family during the early months of 2002," a Temple Terrace police news release states.
A few years ago, a playing card with information about Al Hamdan's unsolved homicide was included among decks distributed to inmates. The hope was that someone would recognize the case and offer tips to law enforcement.
There is an $11,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case, according tot the release. Those with information should call Temple Terrace police at (813) 989-7118.
