TAMPA - Yumay C. Guardado and her 12-year-old daughter stole items on two separate occasions in the past week from a Brandon Target, Hillsborough County deputies say.
The 32-year-old Tampa woman and her child were arrested and charged with two counts of grand theft. Guardado also was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The thefts were captured on surveillance video, deputies say.
While in the store Friday, Guardado and her daughter placed two MP3 players and a portable DVD player into a Target bag and left, according to a sheriff's office release.
On Tuesday, they returned to the store and took clothing and electronics, the release states. Guardado put items into a large purse, and her daughter put them into a pink backpack.
The two were detained by loss-prevention officers until deputies arrived at the store, 187 Brandon Town Center Drive
Guardado, of 6910 W. Waters Ave., No. 402, remained in Orient Road Jail today.
She appeared in court today, and her bail was set at $5,000. She is not allowed to enter any Target stores, and she can't have contact with her daughter.
