Three men forced their way into a home this afternoon, and then broke a window to get out of the home when the owner returned, Tampa police say.
In a news release, police say the men, Rico A. Wise, Jimmy Perry and Troy Jackson, smashed the window of a home on West Coral Street in Tampa, then entered and stole money, wallets and a woman's purse.
According to the release, the homeowner then came home and the suspects broke another window in order to avoid him. The homeowner then ran after the men while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.
Police then arrived and arrested Wise. After setting up a perimeter, police say they tracked Perry and Jackson with a police dog and arrested them.
Officers also say that once Perry was arrested, they determined that he had tried to flee the area on a silver bicycle he had stolen from a neighbor just before breaking into the house.
All three men are charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling as well as other related charges.
