A search of a Tampa woman's home on Tuesday turned up 39 marijuana plants, more than 20 grams of dried marijuana and various equipment used to grow the plants, according to an arrest affidavit.
Evarista Ruiz-Ortiz, 36, of 1741 W. Powhatan, was charged with manufacturing, possession and trafficking of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of stealing electricity.
Deputies said Ruiz-Ortiz tapped into overhead service wires, allowing for unmetered electricity to be used without registration for billing.
She remained at Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
