VANTAGE POINT **
This "Rashomon" for the digital age tries to add suspense to the story of the shooting of an American president (William Hurt) by showing it from eight perspectives, including those of two Secret Service agents (Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox), an American tourist with a fancy high-definition camera (Forest Whitaker), and a cable news executive (Sigourney Weaver).

TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS (not reviewed)
Angela Bassett is a struggling single mom who heads south after learning that the father she never met has died in Georgia, wellspring of wacky relatives and handsome second chances. Ex-NBA star Rick Fox plays a former basketball player who takes an interest in both Bassett and her hoops-loving son.
PG-13, 100 minutes
DRILLBIT TAYLOR **
A trio of geeky teen boys seek help in taking on the school bully from a supposed security expert (Owen Wilson) who happens to be homeless in the latest product to roll off the Judd Apatow assembly line. There are echoes of "Superbad" and "Knocked Up" (Leslie Mann is Wilson's love interest), without the box-office appeal of either.
PG-13, 102 minutes
CITY OF MEN (not reviewed)
First there was Fernando Meireilles' 2002 hit "City of God," a gripping coming-of-age tale set in the slums of Brazil. Actually, first there was the true story, then the novel, then the 2002 film - which inspired the TV series "City of Men," which spawned this big-screen adaptation of the series based on the movie based on the book based on real life.

HEATHERS: 20{+T}{+H} HIGH SCHOOL REUNION (not reviewed)
Despite the milestone-suggesting title, this DVD release doesn't add much in the way of extras to the classic teenage black comedy, in which '80s darling Winona Ryder becomes Alpha Girl with a little help from psycho boyfriend Christian Slater. This set includes the documentary "Return to Westerberg High."
