Men Arrested After Drugs Found In Vehicle, Deputies Say

TAMPA - A 19-year-old Valrico man had a bottle of Olde English beer, Xanax and a cutting tool with a razor blade in his possession when deputies saw him and another man sitting in a Ford sport utility vehicle in Valrico on Wednesday night, deputies say.
They also found drugs stored in the Ford and in possession of the other man, John Brothers, according to a criminal arrest affidavit.
Deputies arrested Brothers, 26, and Zachary Ryan Brewer about 9 p.m. Wednesday at State Road 60 and Valrico Road.
Brewer was charged with 12 counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21. He also was charged with violating probation.
Brothers, of Plant City, was charged with 21 counts of possession of a controlled substance. He also was charged with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Jail Web site.
Brothers and Brewer remained in Orient Road Jail today. Brothers' bail was set at $44,000, and Brewer's bail has not been set.

It is unfortunate that this man has chosen this type of lifestyle. I just hope that he can get the proper help and care someone like him needs so that he can become a better person. My feelings are that if he is unable to change his outlook on life for the better then yes lock him up and throwaway the key until. This kid has become "institutionalized", thats what happens when a kid spends time in Juvie. He can't make a good decision on his own. In Juvie and jail your decisions are made for you and that sets the tone forever.He needed help back in childhood, not jail.More than likely, he'll be in and out of jail for the rest of his life.

Being Zacs step dad, it breaks my heart to see him looking so stupid and back in trouble again! His mom and I have tried the best we could to lead him down the right path and nothing has seemed to work. The judical system has failed us on numerous times and maybe this time he will finally pay the price for his actions! But he still is my son and I love him!!! Well, sitting in a car at night, probably in a place that made it look suspicious, like an empty parking lot, park, etc. would cause the police to have a reason to check it out. And walking up to a truck and seeing two men with a cutting knife, bottle of pills and an open container of crappy beer in the truck would also give them probable cause to search the vehicle, or at the least ask the men to step out of it. And when they step out and get padded down, they almost always have this stuff in their pockets. Because they are dumbazzes with gold teeth and stupid grins. It doesn't take a rocket scientist police officer to figure out that these were two idiots doing something stupid and their job to to stop the stupid people from doing even stupider things. We want them to do that, that's what keeps our tourists from getting robbed when they come here to spend money in our state.

floridasucks you say you hate Tampa Bay & that one of OUR "meth heads" robbed you. However, you need to get your locations straight because Orlando is NOT part of the Tampa Bay area. Good bye & good riddance. While you were being robbed one less Floridian was saved from being robbed at the time.

Sounds like the parents & the kid made some big mistakes along the way. I hope the parents will take the road less travelled & tell him there is no money for bail. When and if the judge is ready to release him then he will. Until then he will sit his happy butt in jail. He is a big boy and knew exactly what he was doing when he was arrested. You do the crime - You do the time. It will give this kid the time he needs to think about his actions. From now on every time he gets locked up he needs to stay there until he serves all his time. Mom & dad need to say NO to any & all bail requests. Time for this kid to grow up.
I'll bet $100 he'd told his parents he's an adult now so they can't tell him what to do.

I find it amusing that this story, so perfect in its components for humor (O.E., white kid with gold teeth, etc.) that we lower ourselves to argue with some idiot who only posted to try and tick us off because he makes snide comments about Florida. Sure, we have our problems just like everywhere else, but come on folks...GOLD TEEFESES! That's hilarious. This kid needs to be in jail. To his step-dad, I'm sorry guy, but if its any consolation my little brother was just as bad or worse, but he spent 15 years in a Tennesee jail (we're native to here) and got his head straight. He's now a master electrician in Tennesee and doing well with a wife and five kids. All is not lost!
