Published: July 3, 2008

Christie Brinkley's divorce lawyers made a dent in her estranged husband Peter Cook's armor Wednesday, when they got him to admit on the stand that he had sex in his office with Diana Bianchi and then paid the 18-year-old $300,000 to keep the affair a secret.

"That is the man who's come before this court and asked for custody of his 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter," said attorney Robert Stephan Cohen on the first day of the divorce trial in Long Island, N.Y. He also noted that Cook spent $3,000 a month on cyberporn sites.

Cook's attorney, Norman Sheresky, said his client admits the porn was wrong and that his affair wasn't quite right, either.

"There is no way to make that right," he said. "Peter has apologized."

He said Brinkley is also to blame for the whole sordid affair. "For goodness' sake: She's on her fourth husband," he said. "We're here because of the self-indulgent wrath of a woman scorned."

Dave Matthews Sax Player Injured
Dave Matthews Band sax player LeRoi Moore is recovering from an ATV accident on his Virginia farm.

According to the band's Web site, Moore was taken to the University of Virginia Health System for treatment after the Monday wreck in Charlottesville. He was upgraded from serious to fair condition Tuesday.

The band is scheduled to play Tampa's Ford Amphitheatre on Wednesday.

Role Set Path For Obama, Actor Says

Dennis Haysbert likes to think his portrayal as the first African-American U.S. president on Fox's "24" may have helped pave the way for Sen. Barack Obama.

"If anything, my portrayal of David Palmer, I think, may have helped open the eyes of the American people," said the actor, who has contributed $2,300 to the Illinois Democrat's presidential campaign.

"And I mean the American people from across the board - from the poorest to the richest, every color and creed, every religious base - to prove the possibility there could be an African-American president, a female president, any type of president that puts the people first," he said Tuesday.

Haysbert stars on "The Unit" on CBS.

'Hancock' Wardrobe 'Revolutionary'

Will Smith on Wednesday told Harry Smith on CBS's "The Early Show" that "Hancock" makes a revolutionary contribution to the superhero genre: "We put the underwear on the inside of Hancock's pants, which is huge. That's groundbreaking," he said. "We're really used to our superheroes having the underwear on the outside."
