PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a seven-year, $35 million contract, the third long-term deal inked with one of their younger players in two days.
Penguins general manager Ray Shero called Fleury "one of the elite goaltenders of the game" and said he was instrumental in helping the team reach the Stanley Cup finals.
BLACKHAWKS: Defenseman James Wisniewski, 24, tore his ACL in his right knee during a training session and will have surgery.
CANADIENS: Signed Forward Georges Laraque to a three-year contract.
CAPITALS: Signed center Keith Aucoin.
COYOTES: Signed former Calgary defenseman David Hale, 27.
PANTHERS: Signed defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick and James DeLory, forward Steve MacIntyre and goalie Chris Beckford-Tseu.
RANGERS: Longtime Vancouver captain Markus Naslund agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
The signing of Naslund, 34, likely ends the Rangers career of captain Jaromir Jagr, who is still mulling his future as an unrestricted free agent.
SHARKS: Signed veteran defenseman Rob Blake, who spent 13 1/2 of his 18 NHL seasons with the Kings.
