Bradenton Woman Says $500 Laptop Stolen

A 27-year-old Bradenton woman was robbed of her $500 laptop while giving a friend a ride home from a nightclub early today, authorities said.

Crystal Wade went to Paper Moon, to pick up the friend, known only as Zoe, after getting a call from him at 1:50 a.m., a Manatee County Sheriff's Office news release said.

When Wade arrived, her friend saw a laptop in the seat of her car, tried to grab it and run, the release said.

Wade grabbed his arm and, when the friend said he had a gun, she let go, the release said. He ran away with the computer. Wade was not injured, the release said, and neither her friend nor a gun was found.

Wade told deputies that her friend had drugs in his house.
