When Rachel Constance DeJesus swung the bat early yesterday morning, deputies say, she connected.
Twice.
With her husband's leg.
That was after punching him twice in the face, according to a criminal report affidavit, which give the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office account of what happened:
DeJesus, 27, and her husband, who is not named in the report, were having a verbal argument early Independence Day morning at their 10609 Goshawk Pl., Riverview residence. The argument escalated when DeJesus punched her husband twice in the face, causing s laceration on the left side of his face. DeJesus then grabbed a baseball bat and swung at her husband, hitting him twice on the right leg, causing large contusions.
DeJesus was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon/domestic violence, a felony. She is in the Orient Road Jail with no bond set, according to jail records.
